Design Principles Followed At Denver Web Design Firms

February 8th, 2010 Chris Dotson No comments

The process in which web designing is carried out is not a simple process. The designer has to make sure when the site is finished that it meets the requirements of all the users that might find it.

The process of designing a website is always done in steps or phases, these must be followed in a sequence to ensure no errors are made. This makes the site easier to review to correct any mistakes or errors that were made in the process. There are several principles that the designer must take into consideration and work by them to create a stable working website.

If these principles are not followed a website can fall apart and drive users away and let the competition trample over you.

The professionals at Denver web design firms understand this fact and therefore follow the necessary principles when developing a website. The application of these principles to web designing also ensures that the website developed has all the necessary elements and is in accordance with the needs of the users and with the internet standards.

One of the key words a Denver Web designer keeps in mind is the word Usability. By the word Usability we mean that the design of the website itself is easy for anyone that visits it to be able to get around easily and effectively. This implies that the site is easy to navigate through and use. This is where you want to watch for the use of unnecessary elements in the site to make it as optimal as possible.

These days people want something more than some pretty pictures and text. People want to see things move and hear things come from the website to get the full experience. There is plenty of ways to add elements such as a Video Spokesperson or a flash object when dealing with a Denver Web design firm.

When doing the content of a page you want to make sure that the content font size is large enough for the user to read with out strain. The standard font size and line spacing is very important.

Color theme of the website must never be overlooked. It is important for the designers to understand that the use of too many colors can make the website look cluttered and this may not appeal to the users. It is always better for the designers to just use two or three colors in their website. One of the main principles that the Denver web designers need to follow is to use design elements that match with the purpose of the site.

Summary- The web designers at Denver Web Design Firms follow the basic principles of web designing to develop a website that looks attractive and is competitive.

Exaggerated Web Design

February 7th, 2010 Aaron Miller No comments

When it comes to web design, there is such as a thing as too subtle and too exaggerated. Exaggerated web designs are those with too much graphics, too much images and too much flash animation flying around and about. When it comes to website design, choose something which visitors would appreciate and would be comfortable on their eyes.

There are some web designs that show marvelous flash headers. However, these headers could be very irritating too particularly when your website is mainly an information provider. It breaks your viewers’ attention and irritates the living daylights out of them. Many web designs at present have become this way – flash intensive, image laden and totally distracting. These web designs go overboard, assaulting the viewers and pushing them away from your website.

The most significant aspect in web design is not showcasing the programmer or web designers’ skills. It is in providing the visitors with what they need. However, there are lots of websites that that ignores this. Take for example website A. Everytime you visit into website A, you hear loud, irritating background music. Note that website A does not sell music records or is it a radio station. Still, music blasts from each page – loud, irritating and weird techno beats at that. Then there is website B, whose web design seems to be fitted for the near sighted. Huge capital letters seem to scream. People do not want it when someone screams at them. Plainly put, it just doesn’t work. Pop-up windows are the problem of website C. Website C’s web design is distinguished by irritating pop ups. Because of these pop ups we miss necessary information. We even miss the core message of the web page. These are just some. There may be more web designs that are irritating, at best. Web designers and webmasters should take note of these things.

As website works as the online brochure of an organization or company, showcasing its information and work processes, it is a must that its presentation would catch the attention of visitors. Web designers must concentrate on this ultimate goal.

The good thing is, nowadays, there are lots of web design companies that are conscious of the right practices in web designing, they can provide solutions that would match to your needs. You just need to be very careful in picking out which one you will hire.

Our team of professional Web designers can provide you the Website design solutions that will surely attract visitors to your website.

Web Hosting And Design Facilities Are Important Tools

December 31st, 2009 Joy Jackson No comments

Web Design and hosting facilities have made a great difference to businesses large and small. These web design and hosting facilities could make a great difference to other businesses that have not already taken advantage of these tools. Data shows that the use of web sites accessed via the internet have increased profits for the businesses that use them. The main attraction is the global exposure that can come with web design and hosting facilities.

Companies that once had to depend on business in one town or area can now reach clients around the world. This could increase the client base from one hundred thousand to one hundred million with a web site on the internet.

Web Design and hosting facilities are helpful to business with all degrees of computer expertise. If a company has their own web site designer, they are probably a large, profitable company that can afford this expense. A good web design and hosting facility has web designers available at a cost. These experts usually have great experience designing web sites so they know the important features that should be included on each web site. These people are usually very talented artists and technical experts who can create effective web sites and great tools for sales and marketing.

Web Design and Hosting Facilities Help Businesses that Lack Computer Expertise

An excellent web design hosted by a great facility could make a significant difference for a business. Web sites offer different capabilities, and some of these depend on the effectiveness of the web design. A web site can describe the products, provide facilities for ordering products and provide the latest news on the products. The web design can be well written or confusing. The web site can make ordering the product easy or difficult. Customers are not all computer experts so they come to a web site with a wide variety of computer skills. A web site that is easy for everyone will be more effective than one that is easy only for those with computer expertise.

A web design and hosting service will provide access from all over the world. The clients come from a variety of cultures and with different language skills. Many will be fluent in English while others will have limited language capabilities. A good web design will accommodate this wide variety of clients. A customer who cannot easily use the web site may give up in frustration to explore an alternative web site. This could mean lost business to a competitor.

Joy Jackson is a web designer and offering special best web hosting support for bluehost customers.

Web Designers: How to Choose Which Clients to Take

December 14th, 2009 Steven Snell No comments

Many web designers struggle with knowing which clients and projects to accept, and which ones they should pass up. Unfortunately, with the amount of competition that exists for web designers, a high percentage of freelancers and small design studios feel the need to jump on every opportunity that comes their way.

One of the main reasons that you should not accept every project and every client is simply that some of them are not willing to pay what you need to get for your time. If you’re spending all of your time on low paying jobs it will prevent you from taking other work. Of course, there are many other reasons as well, which we will get in to.

This article will serve as a reference for those situations where you are contemplating a potential project that has come your way. The factors that are discussed here should be able to help you during these evaluations in the future.

1. Income

This is one that very few designers will forget, but it needs to be mentioned. Of course, the amount of money that you will make on a project should be one of the factors that weighs in your decision. You’re sure to run in to a lot of potential clients who want the world on a very limited budget.

If the client wants you to do your best quality of work and to dedicate time to the project, you should be able to get the amount of money that you need out of that time. If not, you may be better off to pass on the project and look for other clients. One option is to offer a lower-priced package that will make it possible for clients on a budget to use your services, but it will reduce the time commitment from you.

2. Deadlines

Deadlines are an everyday part of life as a web designer. Some projects may me more flexible with deadlines and others may have multiple milestones that need to be met on the way to an overall deadline. Even in situations where the deadline is not set in stone, getting the work done in a timely manner is important to keep clients satisfied.

If a client has a time line that simply isn’t possible for you, let them know that it isn’t going to work. Tell them when you think you would be able to get it done and see if they can accept this deadline. Otherwise, you could increase your pricing for the rush job, or walk away.

3. Fit

Most likely there are some specific areas of design and development that are your strong points, and others where you could improve. Taking jobs that are challenging and teach new skills are good to have in your schedule, but most of your work should be a good fit with your own strengths.

4. Personal Preferences

Not only will you have some areas of design where you are strong and some where you are weaker, but you’ll also find that some types of work you enjoy more than others. It’s a good idea to make an effort to find more work that matches up with your interests so that you can enjoy your work more fully.

5. Current Workload

One of the best ways to drag down the quality of your work is to try to do too much at once. Taking too many clients and projects is tempting because it may pay more, but you will soon find that you would have been better of to push that project back to a later date.

One common practice is to speak with the client about their project, see what their time frame is, and agree on a tentative date for starting in the future when your workload will be manageable.

Steven Snell runs a popular web design blog that includes a web free design job board to help designers find work, and to help companies find the right designer.

What You Should Know If You Want To Change Your Web Hosting Provider

December 4th, 2009 Ricardo d Argence No comments

Changing from one web host to another can become necessary if your website becomes popular and your current host can’t meet your needs for bandwidth, storage, etc. This can be especially true if your site is hosted on a free web host.

When you need to move your website, make sure you plan the move carefully. The first step in the process is to choose a new hosting company.

After you have found a web host that is able to meet your needs, you must move your website onto the new server. Before you move it, make sure that you back up your website from your old host.

This is a great time to consider redesigning your website if it is poorly structured and has been growing haphazardly. You might want something as simple as a new page design or you might want to redesign your site’s database and content storage.

For the first 48 hours after moving to a new host, you should use a redirect page on your old site, that automatically forwards people to the new one. This will ensure that your visitors will see the new site, even if its IP address hasn’t propagated yet.

It takes about 48 hours for a new website to get listed on most domain servers across the internet, so after that you should be fine. A few more suggestions for an easy transition include:

1. Check on whether your new host runs on Windows or Unix and make sure it will be compatible with everything you will move from your old host.

2. Check to see how much storage you need for all your files and content on your current site, and make sure you get enough on the new host to give you room to grow.

3. Check to see what services your new host offers, and make sure anything you have been using on your current host (like autoresponders, mail forwarding, etc.) is available.

4. Make sure that your new host supports Frontpage extensions if your website was built using Microsoft Frontpage.

5. Check your new web host’s policy about extra bandwidth. You may need to know this if your website continues to get busier.

6. If the new host uses a shared server, make sure there won’t be any adult sites hosted on the same server. These can get busy and slow all the server’s other sites down.

7. Before you sign up, check some review sites and forums for customer feedback about the new host. This will give you a good idea of the level of service you can expect from the new host.

After you have uploaded your data to the new web host, test your site to ensure that it is working correctly. You should be able to preview your website on the new host before you complete the domain name switch to the new address.

Do you need a dedicated server? Alojate.com is the premier web hosting company in Mexico, offering a lot of services for every business needs. Dedicated servers, factura electronica, web hosting & registro de dominios.
